This summer, the British Columbia School Trustees Association (BCSTA) launched a refreshed website—focusing on what matters most: clarity, usability, and long-term maintainability.
Rather than a full visual overhaul, this project emphasized thoughtful refinement. The existing brand and structure were preserved, but the underlying editing experience was rebuilt to better serve the BCSTA team. The result is a site that feels familiar to members, while offering significantly more flexibility for staff managing updates behind the scenes.
A Modern Editing Experience
The updated platform introduces a cleaner, more intuitive WordPress block editor interface, customized for BCSTA’s workflows. Page layouts are now easier to edit and expand, with flexible components that adapt to new content needs without requiring redesigns.
By reducing clutter and focusing on reusable sections, the new setup enables BCSTA staff to work faster—without sacrificing consistency or accessibility.

While the front end remained visually familiar, the back end underwent a quiet transformation—removing legacy elements, replacing outdated plugins, and optimizing performance. The editing tools now feel lighter, faster, and less prone to conflicts—ensuring the site remains a reliable foundation for years to come.
